She donates 400.000 Marks for the construction of a hospital.<\/p>\n<h2>1878<\/h2>\n<p>The authorities decide to build a municipal hospital in the area knows as &#8216;Urban&#8217;.<\/p>\n<h2>1887-1890<\/h2>\n<p>Construction of the hospital &#8216;Krankenhaus Am Urban&#8217;.<\/p>\n<h2>10 June 1890<\/h2>\n<p>The hospital goes into operation under the stewardship of directors Werner K\u00f6rte and Albert Fraenkel. Admission of the first patient, a woman.<\/p>\n<h2>1895<\/h2>\n<p>X-rays are used in the hospital, 3 years after their discovery.<\/p>\n<h2>1907<\/h2>\n<p>Lina Schliemann is appointed as the first intern doctor.<\/p>\n<h2>1912<\/h2>\n<p>Alfred D\u00f6blin has to give up his position at the hospital due to marriage, because the rules dictate that assistant doctors must reside at the hospital and remain unmarried.<\/p>\n<h2>1914<\/h2>\n<p>The military authorities commandeer 240 beds for casualties of the First World War.<\/p>\n<h2>10 March 1933<\/h2>\n<p>The hospital is occupied by SA forces. The two Jewish directors and a number of Jewish senior and assistant doctors are driven out of office. Jewish employees are arrested and deported.<\/p>\n<h2>19 January 1943<\/h2>\n<p>An air raid on the hospital leaves 20 employees and 29 patients dead. About 30 percent of the buildings are destroyed.<\/p>\n<h2>28 April 1945<\/h2>\n<p>The Red Army temporarily occupies the hospital.<\/p>\n<h2>15 June 1966<\/h2>\n<p>Beginning of construction work on the first new municipal hospital after the war. The mayor of Berlin, Willy Brandt, lays the foundation stone.<\/p>\n<h2>8 November 2008<\/h2>\n<p>A group of 140 families purchases the old hospital with a view to restoring the 16 historical buildings and turning them into residential units.<\/p>\n<h2>04 November 2011<\/h2>\n<p>Following completion of the restoration and refurbishment, we greet our first guests at the new Apartment-Berlin-Kreuzberg.com.
